Mind-blowing indeed, what Israel's Chareidi Rabbis had to say! - 'not to stand out, but keep a low profile'. What a recipe for disaster that is. It seems they live on a different planet to Jews elsewhere and forget history as well. As for American Jews, they are a decidedly and singularly different lot, differing greatly from other Diaspora Jews, far more timid about owning their Jewishness and, it seems, not willing to face realities.

Thanks, Michael for your usual pertinent, succinct and caustic reminder of cloud cuckoo land that prevails where world opinion is concerned on any question to do with Jewish life and Israel.

I agree -some of the Democrats who say Trump is a threat to American Jews are overheated .
There is a debate in Israel about the degree of civilian settlement that is just based on the Arab murder suicide bombings of Jewish civilians following the Horrible Rejection of the Barak - Clinton peace offer to the Palestinians - 90% of the West Bank for a Palestinian State and the desire for calm by improving Palestinian Autonomy and Life Needs .
Comparing criticism of the degree of civilian settlement of the Jewish People to antisemitism is not really logical .
As long as the settlement is not an annexation of large areas of Judea and Samaria the hope for a stable calm for a few generations with peaceful co existence between the Jewish Arabic and International peoples is still probable .
