A six month enquiry into the bombing of a tourist bus in Burgas Bulgaria last July in which five Israelis lost their lives was most likely carried out by Hezbollah militants from Lebanon…one of them  the bearer of an Australian passport.

‘The bomber was killed with the the five Israelis and the bus driver in the incident at the Black Sea resort.

Bulgaria’s Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov said that a Canadian and an Australian passport-holders were “members of the militant wing of Hezbollah”.

The Australian is believed to have lived in Lebanon since 2006.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reacted to the news by calling on European nations to “reach the required conclusions regarding the true nature of Hezbollah” according to the BBC.

The bomber’s head was found at the scene but investigators believe that it was not a suicide bombing. Their findings indicate the bomb was exploded by remote control or accidentally by the bomber.

It’s most appauling that the Australian government and its Foreign Minister refuse to reveal any information about the “Australian passport holder” terrorist under the pretext of “Security” consideration. What security? Only to secure and protect the Muslim community here?

It’s of a great concerns that, as we know, there are thousands of Islamists in Australia of Lebanese and other Arabic origin who have been granted Australian citizenship – and by law considered “Australians” and thus enjoy the full support and protection by the government – who are active supporters and members of Hizbellah and other international Islamist terrorist groups eg al Shabab in Somalia, in Libya, Syria etc. Some go back to their country of origin to join and fight for their sectarian cause.

How is it possible that these people who commit terrorist crime, for that matter any crime – here or abroad – to still be able to maintain and enjoy the benefit of their Australian citizenship?

On Wednesday, Clive Williams from Macquarie University spoke to the ABC’s Simon Santow as an expert on terrorism.

Williams said that, given the large number of Australians living in Lebanon, it would not be unusual to find someone with an Australian passport associated with Hezbollah.

Australia’s new Attorney general Mark Dreyfus should declare that hezballah is a terrorist organisation- and support of these terrorist should be a crime in Australia.

  4. Stan says:

There’s also a strong possibility the Australian passport is a fake. Meaning this would not be the first time a false Australian passport has been used in an act of terror.

    • Shirlee says:

No Stan, there is no possibility of a fake passport except in you mind.

The Australian is just that, with an Australian passport and has lived in lived in Lebanon since 2006

  5. Paul Winter says:

That an Australian passport holder seems to be linked to the Burgas terror attack raises a number of questions. Was the person, who is alleged to have been involved, the passport holder or was the person using an Australian’s passport? And if the latter, will our FM call in the Lebanese ambassador for a dressing down? Was the passport holder born in Lebanon and thus a dual citizen or was he Australian born or even a convert to Islam? What was the person doing in Lebanon for the past 6 years and did he maintain contacts with people in Australia, indicating the presence of radical groups in this country? What is our government going to do about monitoring possible Australian terrorists here and overseas and establishing links to groups or states that recruit them?

  6. Shirlee says:

” an Australian passport-holders were “members of the militant wing of Hezbollah”.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. no one here in Government seems see what is happening elsewhere n the world

“it wont happen here, we have a good multicultural society’
