The Washington Post, New York Times and England’s Guardian published the same material simultaneously in many cases. A free press is all-important and the wrong precedent set in the Assange case could well threaten that.
That Assange is narcissistic, unlikable as a person, and possibly antisemitic to boot, is not the point here.
