The PLO has rejected negotiations with Israel on allocating sovereignty in the remaining 70% plus a $50 billion incentive offered by President Trump to make it happen.

This has cleared the way for Jordan and Egypt to pick up the money and negotiate the drawing of new international boundaries between Israel and Jordan and possibly Israel and Egypt to end the Jewish-Arab conflict.

Final effect would thus be given to the real two state solution first contemplated by the Treaty of Sevres in 1920, the Mandate for Palestine in 1922 and article 80 of the UN Charter.

Hopefully Ashkenazi’s following statement indicates he is coming around to this line of thinking: “I see great importance in strengthening the ties with the countries with which we have peace, Egypt and Jordan. They are the most important allies in dealing with regional challenges”

Dealing with the PLO is dead and buried after 25 years of getting nowhere. Trump offer of a State knocked back in 2020 as happened in 2000 with Barak and 2008 with Olmert.
