91-yr-old Joan Lardner Rivlin has been made a Member of the NZ Order of Merit for services to seniors.

The South African-born Joan Gardner Rivlin spoke to the Auckland Sunday Times in 2017 saying that she “has always stood-up for things that matter: injustice, community and development.

The paper reported “her contributions to community development in New Zealand has earned her the Queens Service Medal.

Joan’s decades-long career at Citizens Advice Bureau is unwavering.”
