In reply to <a href="https://www.jwire.com.au/alan-dershowitz-and-abraham-are-two-of-kind/#comment-163504">Erica Edelman</a>.

So, wanting to learn from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil was nothing more than acting upon her hormones? You have reading only the Christian version, obviously.
And, why did God place such a Tree in the Garden if not to entice both Adam and Eve to learn from it, so that they can discern between the two inclinations that co-exist in all of us?
We are still grappling with the depths of this metaphor. Neither Spinoza nor Freud cold find an answer to the questions raised by it. And particularly when it comes to denying the motives for our behaviours.
Before you decide to cut someone with your aggressive remarks, may be you should try to read the metaphor in Hebrew, and tell me if you can find the word 'sin" in it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Eve ARGUED with Hashem about anything - EVER. I think she just went about her business according to her hormones. Both Hashem and Eve knew exactly what was best for humanity!
We ALL argue with Hashem. We WANT Him to know best, but the reality is that He gave us the ability to ARGUE (debate, if you like)and therefore the ability to reject His (glorious) opinion. But enough of that, is this book available through a Jewish charity? I would like to buy a few copies and in the process donate to a worthy cause. Dershowitz, no doubt, has already thought of that.
