Let’s not get carried away by the 1947 UN resolution 181.
It was a recommendation that was made as an attempt to appease Arab aggression.
The Arab empire rejected it, initiating first a civil war, then a multi-pronged invasion.
It was very unfair to the Jewish People since it recommended amputating from the Jewish National Home yet another chunk: the first amputation had been perpetrated by Britain in 1922, when it gave transplanted Arabs from the Arabian Peninsula 80% of that Home.
The UN’s response to the 1947-48 Arab aggression was speeches. Some members of the very body that had recommended partition into a Jewish state and an Arab state, actually aided and abetted that aggression.
It was the Jewish defenders who reconstituted Israel, not the UN.
