Emily, thank you for your informed and comprehensive discussion on the orchestrated attempts to twist and pervert justice to bigoted and premeditated ends, obviously ongoing through the ages. Insofar as Miriam Margolyes is concerned, her statement on Q&A that ‘people don’t like Jews’ was actually a blanket statement. She was initially responding to the young Jewish woman in the audience who had made various comments on discrimination against Jews in Sydney, also mentioning Israel and the coming together of the two. Margolyes certainly went on to link the two issues – anti-Semitism and the Israel/Palestinian conflict – and finished with a choice bit of swearing and abuse when speaking of the Israelis. However, that first comment ‘people don’t like Jews’ was meant as a definitive one-off statement, standing by itself. She went on to say that people never had liked Jews and that was simply the situation. I remember it well. That short statement, delivered with theatrical force, resounded in the bit of silence to follow it, and in its way was shocking.

The Red Rattler Theatre email was purportedly sent by a ‘volunteer’, without name to it. The Board pleaded understanding due to being a small not for profit organisation who rely on volunteers for their daily operation. Hillel or the NSWJC should follow-up by requesting identification of that person (who may have been pushing his or her own personal agenda). The email will be dated, with time sent, and surely it can be discovered who was sitting at the computer/s at that time to narrow things down a bit. Why do we always just accept apologies without taking it that little bit further?! To answer my own question: because it’s habitual. There needs to be concerted effort to change this habit.

Among the collaborators supporting the Sydney University Peace Centre’s antisemitic offensives are self-loving antisemites “of Jewish background”.
They and the Centre stress “their Jewish background” in an attempt to shake off accusations of racism.
They are as “Jewish” as those “Jews” who collaborated with the Spanish Inquisition; those “Jews” who labored for the communists, sending thousands of Jews to show trials, concentration camps and executions; “Jews” like the late Bruno Kreisky, the socialist Austrian chancellor, who, ironically, but appropriately, was a great political success in Hitler’s homeland; “Jews” like the celebrated Sydney academic who remembers his ethnic ancestry only when he needs to exploit it as a propaganda tool, and who asserted with vehement disgust, that he “doesn’t like those people.”

Actually, if Lynch is replaced, his successor might be a far more cunning agent, one who would continue the dishonest, vicious tradition of the “Peace Centre,” but who would be a far more accomplished stage actor.

Lynch receives a great deal of publicity, but his academic and ethical standards are shared by others in that institution.

The settlers at The Sydney University Peace Centre, who live on ethnically cleansed territory, want Jews ethnically cleansed, too, just as Hitler’s friend and adviser on Jewish affairs, the Arab, Haj Amin al-Husseini, did.

Emily Gian’s article , as usual, makes most interesting reading. She has
drawn historical facts and present day events together into an informative
whole.
It will be interesting to hear what the British Prime Minister, David Cameron will have to say after the University of Southampton’s “conference” and how it articulates with his extraordinary pro Israel and pro Jewish speech.It seems that academia is now the location of the “Star Chamber” not only in Britain but also in Sydney.
