My take: Tarentino is saying: In war, ANYone can be a b*stard; in “LiB,” I’ve seen frat-houses and punk-rock “estates” that were scarier-looking than that “camp” the Italian Jews were in!

The mention of violence here makes it seem like this is a full-blown gratuitous shoot ’em up…it’s not. I surmise the reason the reviewer says it’s unbearable is because of the TENSION in all of the scenes that leads up to the violence, and that makes the violence bursts even more effective. This isn’t Rambo.
