Eli Rabinowitz and Amir Maimon in Lithuania

The appointment is yet to be confirmed by the Israeli government.

Amir Maimon is a former ambassador to Lithuania where he was a good friend of Darius Degutis who was Lithuania’s ambassador to jointly Israel and South Africa.

Degutis has just arrived in Melbourne and will go to Canberra after quarantine to establish Lithuania’s first embassy in Australia where he will serve as ambassador.

Perth-based Eli Rabinowitz is well-known to both ambassadors through his travels throughout Lithuania and is looking forward to renewing their acquaintance.

Ambassador Maimon will be Israel’s first ambassador since Mark Sofer left in July.
