It will be called GB News, and its aim is to try and bring some balance back into the news industry. It will be hosted by a seasoned and highly experienced journalist called Andrew Neil. Even before the first program has been aired, there are calls coming from some on the far left to boycott the advertisers who will sponsor the show. This attempt to strangle this channel at birth shows how worried they are that real and not ‘fake’ news will be disseminated to the general public.
Maybe two can play at that game. If the producers and senior executives at SNL refuse to apologize for or recant this so-called joke, maybe it’s time for those who really care about the anti-Semitic filth which is gradually creeping into mainstream TV to contact the advertisers who sponsor these shows. If these people care about anything, it is about the advertising dollars they spend to promote their products. If a groundswell of opinion shows that these companies are hurting financially, then perhaps some action, albeit late in the day, might be taken.
Anti-Semitism isn’t just about prejudice against Jews. It is an attack on all free-thinking people who value the right to say what they think without fear of condemnation by those who don’t have the intellectual morality or authority to engage in honest debate.
