I commend initiatives that encourage hearing awareness. Maintaining access to hearing is such a vital aspect of health ageing. It's worth noting that the best hearing test is an answer to the question, do I ever have difficulty hearing - or do my family think I do?
Blamey and Saunders have provided access to advanced hearing aids at an extraordinarily low cost, that people can set up to comfort themselves, if they have a computer. The hearing aids are based partly on bionic ear technology, with a DIY set up developed by Daniel Taft. They save a lot of money as it's direct to the client from the hearing aid company.
For people who decide to get hearing aids, if they are not eligible for free ones, they should check out prices and value for what they pay very carefully. Hearing aid products and services are commonly bundled together. Check out how much support you get, and what percentage of the product price it costs. For people with internet, Blamey & Saunders do most of the support online.
