A political and history graduate of Monash University, Josh currently works as Chief of Staff for Federal Labor MP, Michael Danby. As part of his political experience he has fostered relationships at a local, state and national level.

By partnering with community groups to fundraise and help set the local agenda, the campaign will focus on giving back to those who make a real and positive difference to the lives of people living and working in Caulfield.

Previously, Josh has worked with multicultural communities delivering inter-faith programs which promote dialogue and greater cultural awareness. Outside of politics, he is captain of the Maccabi Basketball Team and has provided leadership sports training to young people.

The Labor campaign will focus on key priorities for Caulfield including the need for affordable housing options; a greater commitment to resources required for schools, hospitals and aged care facilities, and increased investment in local transport networks.

Australian Labor Party candidate for the seat of Caulfield Josh Burns says it is a privilege to represent the aspirations of the community he grew up in. The time has come to find innovative and creative solutions which address the important challenges facing our community in the future. “I am excited about working with the local community to find ways to make Caulfield a better place to live, work and visit. Caulfield is, and always has been, my home. I know what a great place it is. More importantly, I can see so many opportunities to make it even better.

“For too long David Southwick and the Liberal Party have taken the seat of Caulfield for granted. It is time to challenge this complacency. Together, we can secure a future that responds to the needs of our community as it continues to grow and diversify, and one we are proud of being part of.”

  1. Twenty six years old? Still wet behind the ears. No way would I vote for a kid barely out of school. What does he know about life yet? Aren’t there any experienced competent people to run? Is this the best we can find in our community?

  2. “For too long David Southwick and the Liberal Party have taken the seat of Caulfield for granted.”

The same can be said for Michael Danby and the Labor Party with the seat of Melbourne Ports.
