The Zionist Council of Victoria is preparing for the exciting 2010 Yom Ha’atzmaut Concert which will be held on Monday evening, 19 April, 2010 at Hamer Hall.

The Yom Ha’atzmaut concert is the largest ticketed event in the Melbourne Jewish community’s annual Calendar of Events.  It is a sellout concert with 2,500 people in attendance which brings together the Melbourne Jewish community for an evening of solidarity with Israel.

The concert features music, dance and video and is designed to appeal to a broad cross section of Melbourne’s Jewish community.

In 2010, for the first time we’d like to include a contemporary, “DJ” number – to be performed on stage.

Are you a DJ?

Do you think you have what it takes to get 2,500 people excited, with an Israel-based turntabling stage performance at Yom Ha’atzmaut?  If you think that you are the one, please call Cathy Nemy at the Zionist Council of Victoria on 9272 5544 or email cnemy@zcv.org.au and we will email you the application form.

In your email, please:

  • Outline a proposal of your idea.  Describe how your talents could be used and showcased in a specific context for, say, 3-5 minutes.
  • Explain what you would do, in detail, and if necessary, submit an mp3 as part of your application.
  • Bear in mind the context in which you will be performing.  If you would like to refer to a DVD of last year’s concert, please contact Cathy at the ZCV on the above email address or phone number.
  • What equipment do you use in performance?
  • Do you own your own equipment?

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me at the Zionist Council of Victoria.

Regards,

Ginette Searle
