Westfield’s World Trade Centre mall reopened following its destruction in the 9/11 attack
Westfield has launched its rebuilt World Trace Centre Mall fifteen years after the devastating attacks in 2001 which destroyed the iconic twin towers of the World Trade Centre.
The Sydney-based developer Westfield, has launched more than 100 stores in the 365,000-square-foot shopping complex in its first stage.
Frank Lowy is co-founder of the company which came from a small beginning as a suburban mall in Sydney to the world-wide empire it is today.
Joining Frank Lowy in New York city to celebrate the return of the company to the Ground Zero area were his sons David, Steven and Peter.
Retailers at the shopping hub include big names like Apple, Bose, Hugo Boss, H&M, Kate Spade, John Varvatos, Sephora, Kiehl’s, MAC, Cole Haan, Aldo and Disney.
Westfield expects the World Trade Center site to generate $1 billion in annual sales.
