Ahead of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, join the World Jewish Congress for what we hope will be the largest commemoration ever on-line.

In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance day, January 27th, we have developed this crazy idea to do something that’s never been done before. We plan to make an unforgettable statement to make sure that the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust are never forgotten.

Anti-Semitism is more prevalent today than it has been at any time since WWII, and this is why we all need to declare, together, that WeRemember. The goal is to reach those who don’t know much about the Holocaust, or deny it entirely.

In the digital age we should be where the young generation is. The goal of this campaign is to pass on the torch to the next generation. Soon it will be their responsibility to tell the story and to tell the world that we will never forget.

On January 27th, the official International Holocaust Remembrance day, in the largest organized commemoration ever on social media, we will ask millions of people to hold up a sheet of paper and write “We Remember” and to post it to social media with the hashtag #WeRemember.

Reach out to your community and its leaders (schools, churches, synagogues, youth movements, and other institutions). Encourage them to encourage others — friends, students, teachers, congregants, etc. — to photograph themselves holding “We Remember” signs. They should then upload these photos directly to Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram with the hashtag #WeRemember or email weremember@wjc.org.

REMEMBER – Pick up a pen… A paintbrush… A crayon… Whatever… And write “We remember”…then post your picture to social media with #WeRemember.

Don’t forget the other 8 million non Jewish, mostly other fellow Europeans, who were murdered in German concentration camps too.
