War-injured Israelis value diaspora connection

Two Israelis who suffered permanent injuries whilst on active duty in the IDF have visited Sydney to meet supported of ZDVO which raises funds for Beit Halochem…the rehabilitation unit set up  to maximise life for Israel’s wounded. A video interview.

Ori Mandelbaum and Hanoch Budin attended three movie showings and addressed students at Moriah College, Masada College, the Emanuel School and Mt Sinai School as well as being guests of honour at private dinners and breakfasts.

ZDVO President Michael Balkin told J-Wire: “It was an awesome week and we are seeing a noticeable increase in support. There is no doubt that the Israeli government does all it can to help these permanently injured servicemen and women but we are in a position to value add to their lives and perhaps bring them benefits they might not have been able to attain otherwise.
