As every vote counts in the upcoming Victorian State Election, a mobile voting station will be stationed for residents at Jewish Care’s Gary Smorgon House.

The station will operate at Gary Smorgon House, 4-8 Freeman Street, Caulfield from 10:00 am til 4:00 pm on Tuesday, November 23rd and residents, relatives, staff and visitors are encouraged to avail themselves of the opportunity to vote. The mid-week polling opportunity enables members of the Jewish community to exercise their vote before Election Day, which falls on Shabbat.

Jewish Care CEO Bill Appleby said the initiative was part of Jewish Care’s philosophy of inclusion, designed to give easy voting access to elderly residents and the community.

“Voting is a critical expression of freedom and independence and one which should be easily accessible to all citizens young and old,” Mr Appleby said.

“The mobile polling booth offers an opportunity for residents to assert this right, and for friends and family to enjoy the convenience of voting close to home.”
