A projected image of Private Greg Sher who was killed in Afghanistan last year made a huge impact at the VAJEX Anzac Day service on Sunday.

The image was part of an audio-visual presentation made by the organisation’s vice-president Dr Judy Landau.

The Vicorian Association of Jewish Ex-Servicemen and Women held its service at Mount Scopus Memorial College in Melbourne.

The presentation showed images reflecting the aims and objectives of the Association but audible gasps were heard from the audience when Private Greg Sher’s image was projected on the screen. Members of his family and circle of friends were in the audience as well as family members of those currently serving with the Australian armed forces overseas.

Prayers were read by students from the Mount Scopus, Bialek College, Yavneh College and King David Jewish day schools.
