The Victorian Government has advised that all community appointed spiritual carers visiting hospitals, unless personally invited by the patient, will require accreditation.

Through Spiritual Care Victoria, JCCV has been appointed to implement the accreditation process for the Victorian Jewish community.  Temple Beth Israel has agreed to be an accrediting organisation, and we are planning to sign up the Rabbinical Council of Victoria, Chabad Youth and Kehilat Nitzan over the next few months.  Further details will be provided regarding accreditation as we have more details available.

The Jewish Community Council of Victoria is arranging a two day Spiritual Carer basic training course delivered by Rabbi Boruch Shapiro for volunteers, Rabbonim and others who need or wish to work towards Spiritual Carer accreditation (hospitals).

The details of the training:

Session 1 – 10:00am-4:30pm on Sunday 21 May, Lamm Library at 306 Hawthorn Road, Caulfield South

Session 2 – 10:00am-4:30pm on Sunday 28 May, Lamm Library at 306 Hawthorn Road, Caulfield South

This training is a stepping stone for those wishing to do a planned JCCV Spiritual Care Train the Trainer program in August which will be delivered by Spiritual Care Victoria.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

RSVP- ASAP: Please advise your colleagues and volunteers who will require training and send all bookings with names and email addresses to david@jccv.org.au
