US visitor discusses antisemitism, racism and Israel

Mark Weitzman, Director of Government Relations of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre in New York was the keynote speaker at last night’s Betty and Shmuel Rosenkranz Oration in Melbourne.

The Jewish Community Council of Victoria arranged meetings this week for Mr Weitzman with the Victorian Minister for Multicultural Affairs Robin Scott, the Co-Chairs of the Parliamentary Friends of Israel Marsh Thomson MP and David Southwick MP, and Minister for Trade, Innovation and Small Business Phil Dalidakis.  Discussions centred around antisemitism, racism and Israel.

The oration was held at the Glen Eira Town Hall.

    Labor and Liberal MPs are often pictured together.

    Are these two parties really political enemies or merely different in name only?
