The Center for Near East Policy Research based in Jerusalem is launching a major initiative to bring to the attention of legislators in various countries, including Australia, the facts about this UN agency which has failed for 65 years in fulfilling its mandate to solve the Arab refugee problem.

UNRWAUNRWA whose slogan boasts that “peace starts here” is in actual fact complicit in fostering an educational agenda whose real slogan should read “war starts here”.

Two recent documentaries, “Camp Jihad” and “Inside the UNRWA classroom”, produced by CNEPR clearly demonstrate how UNRWA’s 492,000 students are indoctrinated with the idea of a right of return to Israel which can only be accomplished by terror tactics and war.

In the light of these revelations donor nations including Australia must urgently reassess their aid and condition any future funding on a complete reform of UNRWA. This includes an educational syllabus which prepares students for a constructive life and peaceful co-existence.

In an effort to enlighten Members of Parliament screenings will be organised in donor countries for legislators and staff members. Experts will explain and elucidate the steps required to convert the current agenda for war into a real agenda for peace. DVD’s and information packs will be distributed to policy makers as part of this major initiative.

After 65 years of perpetuating the refugee problem rather than solving it donor nations need to wake up to the fact that millions of dollars in aid has been poured down a bottomless pit.

This initiative the Center hopes will finally shine the spotlight on a subject which up till now has been ignored.

Very important to see if the new Aus. Gov. will re-assess the 90 million dollar contribution to UNRA to be earmarked for the palestinian “education” programmes.
Let’s see how efficient are our communal leaders on this one !!!

Another initiative unfortunately doomed to get nowhere.

These PRIVATE screenings to donor countries, most of whom are hostile to Israel will probably receive a sympathetic hearing, but that’s about it. None of these countries are going to rock the boat and to expect them to “urgently reassess their aid and condition any future funding on a complete reform of UNRWA” is akin to expecting anti-semitism to disappear off the face of the earth overnight. It’s not going to happen.

When will Israel ever wake up to the fact that initiatives of this nature must be undertaken by the highest levels of the Israeli Government by those who can command world wide media attention that cannot be ignored. I am referring here not only to the Israeli Prime Minister and Foreign Minister but most importantly to an Israeli Ambassador at the UN who should be able to present his case unambiguously, clearly, concisely, with no punches pulled and in crystal clear English.

One has to despair if Israel is capable of ever getting anything right when it comes to hasbara.

      Dear Gil,

Private efforts on behalf of Israel with Israeli gov’t support represent the process that works. Please peruse the privately sponsored hearing on UNRWA that was organized in the Canadian Parliament:

      • Paul Winter says:

        Dear David,

Thanks for your links to Behind the News. They substntiate Gil’s point.

Your first link leads to a 79 minute talk on the destructiveness and conflict perpetuating actions of UNWRA, dated 27.3.12. Your second link leads to an article dated 18.10.13 on the same topic. In other words after a year and a half Behind the News is still talking about the same thing and nothing has changed the situation.

If instead of keeping the news behind closed doors, finessed by clever diplomats, influential people trumpeted it so loudly and publicly that not even the deafest politicians and media maggots could fail to notice and respond to it, something might – just might – change. And that is the point Gil was making.

        • Gil Solomon says:

          Paul,

The geniuses that be and their cohorts will never admit that they have got it wrong all these years.

It is mind boggling that they stick to the same old ways that have been an abysmal failure in the past and think things will be different this time round.

That being said, how ludicrous is it for David to say:
“Private efforts on behalf of Israel with Israeli gov’t support represent the process that works” and then go on to provide links that prove nothing.

The enemies of Israel must wake up every morning and thank Allah for having made Jews their adversary.
