The Centre, which looks at the number of research articles published in top-tier journals, also placed Technion’s Computer Science, Theory and Methods studies 4th in the world and Computer Science and Information Systems, 8th.

Technion, based in Haifa, Israel is one of the driving forces behind Israel’s high-tech industry and innovation. Consistently ranked among the world’s top universities, it is a major source of the “brainpower” that drives the Israeli economy, and now Australian high school graduates will have the chance to experience Technion through an unforgettable “Gap Year” there.

Ruth Ratner, President of Technion Australia says, “Students from all over the globe go to Technion to study, particularly its Technion International courses, which are taught entirely in English.  We’re very excited because for the first time Technion is offering Australian high school graduates a “Gap Year” designed to fit our academic year”.

The program, running for eight months from January to August 2018 will combine academic studies in Science and Engineering with leadership development workshops, Hebrew language classes, Jewish studies options, volunteering, a rich cultural experience and unforgettable discovery tours.  Unique to the program is a series of visits to some of Israel’s leading high tech laboratories and industries.

Representatives from Technion and Technion Australia will be at MASA Gap Year School Fairs and parent information evenings around Australia in May this year.  In the meantime, for more information about undertaking a Gap Year at Israel’s leading science and technology university, contact Hilary May Black, Executive Director at Technion Australia at hilarymayblack@austechnion.com.
