U.S. Elections are won by Jews!

Throughout history antisemitism has reared it’s ugly head in countless societies around the world and in a number of forms…writes Raffe Gold.

Jews have been accused of utilizing the blood of Christian or Muslim children in order to make matzah, they have been called swindlers and usurers, Christ-killers and disease spreaders. However if there is one constant example of antisemitism it is that Jews control the world through nefarious means. The idea that Jews are controlling the world has famously been personified within the Czarist forgery ‘The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion’ and extends to the idea of the ‘Zionist Occupied Government’ in the US today. However there does appear to be some truth to the idea if former Bush Press Secretary Ari Fleischer is to be believed.

Fleischer was in Israel this week with Matt Brooks, the Executive Director of the Republican Jewish Coalition, to help increase support for Mitt Romney amongst US-Israeli citizens. The intimate meeting with a small number of Israeli bloggers was organized by “I Vote Israel” who informed me that they also plan to bring Democrats to Israel. Many US citizens living in Israel who may, or may not, be registered to vote often do not have any idea about how crucial their vote is. Fleischer remembers vividly the tense weeks in 2000 when an election was eventually decided by the court system and is trying to ensure that such a situation does not arise again.

According to the Federal Voting Assistance Program there are currently 163,395 US citizens, and their descendants, in Israel eligible to vote in the US election. The majority of Jews in the US will vote for Obama but the President has been losing a lot of support amongst more conservative members of the Jewish community. Obama won around 80% of the Jewish vote in 2008 and he managed to rein in a number of very wealthy donors. A poll conducted in April of this year by the Public Religion Research Institute found that Obama could win only 62% of the Jewish vote this year. Whilst this is still a majority the Republicans are pouncing on every single percent that they can shave away from the traditionally democratic base. This is what brought Ari Fleischer and Matt Brooks to Israel. Fleischer stated that if they managed to win just 30% of the Jewish vote then they would win the White House. This is an astonishingly small number of people that can swing the votes to another candidate.

According to polling done by I Vote Israel (note: IVI is a non-partisan group) the Republicans have had significantly more support within the Israeli-American community as opposed to the Democrats. In fact the Republicans can boast that more than 30% of those polled voted for John McCain in the last election whilst Barack Obama garnered only 15%. Considering that the majority of those polled, both in the US and in Israel cite domestic issues as their primary concern, this doesn’t come as a surprise. In the US 51% of Jews consider the economy to be the most important issue in the election with only 4% stating that Israel is the most important issue for them. Compare this with the Israeli-American Jews who cite Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons being their primary concern.

Fleischer and Brooks waxed lyrically about Romney’s consistent support for Israel and used their platform to hammer Obama on his relations with Netanyahu (describing them as ‘frosty’….a somewhat diplomatic term) and talked about how Romney has a genuine friendship with the Israeli Premier (it has recently come to light that both Romney and Netanyahu were both employed by the Boston Consulting Group). This allowed Fleischer to state that there won’t be an ‘open-mike situation’ like Obama had with former French President Sarkozy where he referred to Netanyahu as a ‘liar’ and Obama replied with “You’re fed up with him, but I have to deal with him more than you”.

The Democrats are well aware of the quandary that they currently experience with Jewish voters in crucial swing-states. Whilst the precise numbers that fill the Democratic ‘war chest’ is unknown it is predicted that around 60% of money raised for their campaigns will come from Jews. With Obama alienating these crucial voters and donors the Republicans are well aware that a single percentage could mean the difference between winning and losing. The Republicans may not win the Jewish vote in the upcoming election but they know that they only have to diminish it.

The idea that a global Jewish power exists and that it omnipotently controls the direction of entire governments is absurd and a thought that is held by the fringe conspiracy theorists of society. But, as the Republicans believe, the Jews do have a bit of power in deciding where their votes, and more importantly their money, goes. Add this to the fact that evangelical Christians represent a significant voting bloc and you can expect a hyped-up Republican campaign where Obama is accused of anti-Israel policies and sentiment. It will be a dirty election and Israel will be used by Romney a key issue in deciding the next American President.

Blair has said everything Jimmy Carter said in support of Palestine. But Mitt sits with Blair for press photo op?

Mormons aren’t zionist by creed, so why is Mitt pulling this Evangelical Choosen People/Promised Land sled?
Its like the 1980s with Hal Lindsey’s ‘The Late Great Planet Earth’ but with Iran filling the part of the Russians.
    Very odd.
Mitt keeps talkin about lrtting Israel bomb Iran. Both Thatcher and Reagan condemned Israel striking Iraq in 1981.
Thatcher condemned Israel’s bombing of Osirak, Saddam Hussein’s nuclear reactor, in 1981. “[The Osirak attack] represents a grave breach of international law,” she said in an interview with London’s Jewish Chronicle in 1981. Israel’s bombing of another country could lead to “international anarchy.”
I think Reagan said something about,
“….the inalienable sovereign right of Iraq, and all other States, especially the developing countries, to establish a program of technological and nuclear development.”
    Iran is no different.
In his STAR WARS Speech didn’t Reagan say, ‘We will never be the aggressor.”?
I’m looking for the first few Reagan Republicans to condemn the said planned attack against Iran. Betcha not one has the guts to make a stand for fear of being called an
anti-something. I have no idea what Mitt is doing.
And then Mitt knocks Socialism? But now he’s gunna go visit 3 socialist countries?
Bolton, Edelman…all these anti-Arabists Mitt has surrounded himself with, makes no sense when Arab revolution is widespread. The Arabs aren’t going to get the shaft again as they did post-WWI where even Lawrence of Arabia was ashamed of Britain’s destruction of promised Arab self-determination.
Good ol’ Mitt, knocks Socialism, then goes and visits 3 Socialist countries.

Anti-semitism is largely confined to Christian dominated Europe and is not “timeless” or universal. The Papal church is largely to blame for giving legal, religious sanction to anti-semitism. Jews have lived in peace – or with no systemic persecution – in much of Andulasian Spain, the Ottoman empire, Africa and Asia.

The ultimate in hubris and ignorance ! The “Ben” presumes to teach us our own history !!
I thought his absence was permanent. Big mistake !!! ( one JWire should contemplate upon seriously !!!)

When the palestinian inspired spirit plunges into “intellectual” suicide spins we do get the benefits of repulsive verbal vomit.
