Fr Denis Stanley, Chair of the EIC, acted as master of ceremonies for the evening, during which the ninety attendees were inspired by a panel discussion focussing on Jewish and Catholic identity in the modern world.  Discussions were broad ranging, touching on issues of faith, family, education and passing on of identity to future generations.

Maria Kirkwood, Director of Catholic Education in Sale acted as moderator for the panel.  The panelists were Marc Light, Principal of the King David School, Kathryn Bowden, Catholic Education Melbourne Religious Unit, Brad Rowswell, communications and government relations, and Erica Cervini, Journalist and Phd candidate at Victoria University.

Ms Jennifer Huppert, JCCV President stated, “It is wonderful to see the partnership and friendships between our faith communities blossom over the twelve friendship dinners.  In these difficult times, it is heartening to see positive interfaith dialogue and the building of friendly relations between our communities.”

Auxiliary Bishop of Melbourne Mark Edwards and interfaith stalwart Rabbi John Levi said prayers at the beginning of the meal.
