Federal Liberal MP for the Sydney Eastern Suburbs electorate of Wentworth Malcolm Turnbull has delivered the Sir John Monah Oration at the Sydney Jewish Museum.

Turnbull focused on the economy and the current political position ahead of the 2013 Federal election.

He signed off the oration with a tongue in cheek recommendation that Sir John Monash be posthumously promoted to Field-Marshall.

A small point but the reference to Monash being posthumously promoted to field marshal was not tongue in cheek.
