Aprotest is being organised in an attempt to intimidate invitees and tarnish today’s Yom Haazmaut celebration in Melboure with false and misleading statements about Israel.

Victoria’s peak Jewish community bodies the Zionist Council of Victoria and the Jewish Community Council of Victoria will host the festive cocktail reception in honour of Israel’s 64th independence today, Tuesday 5 June at Melbourne’s Hotel Windsor.

Invitees include State and Federal politicians, community leaders of all faiths and members of the media.  Guests of honour are Victorian Premier Ted Baillieu and leader of the opposition Daniel Andrews as well as Israel’s Ambassador to Australia, Yuval Rotem.

“We are aware that an ugly and intimidating protest is being planned to disrupt our event this evening.  Whilst we support freedom of speech this is nothing more than an attempt by radical protestors to demonise and vilify Israel and all who support her including the Victorian Jewish community” Zionist Council of Victoria President Sam Tatarka said.  “These are the same so-called “protestors”, who chant inflammatory, false and racist slogans in their failed attempts to boycott local Israeli and Jewish owned businesses and who harass Jewish student groups on university campuses. They and their actions can only be viewed as offensive to a tolerant multicultural Victoria.”
“We are saddened that in a state which is a paradigm for harmonious multiculturalism the Jewish Community is prevented from having a peaceful function free of protest and harassment.  We are particularly concerned for those members of our community who are Holocaust survivors. They came here to seek refuge after persecution and they deserve better than to be treated with such lack of civility and human decency.  We fully support the right to free speech but rights come with responsibilities and do not exist in a vacuum. The rights of the protestors must be weighed against the rights of the community as a whole to go about its business peacefully and without being subject to abuse and intimidation” Nina Bassat AM President of the Jewish Community Council of Victoria said.
“In Israel’s short history as a state in the modern era June 5 is a date of great significance.  On that day forty five years ago Israel braced for battle as the 1967 Six Day War broke out. More than four decades later Israel continues to be threatened with destruction in a hostile and unstable neighbourhood” Tatarka concluded.

Actually I had my final class for the semester last night and as such clearly wasn’t there. But Michael I am pleased that I can inspire Zionist paranoia in my absence.

    • What a shame you were not there Master James. You would have been ” The 41st” , also a famous Soviet film of the 50s. In it , the main character ends up somehow expired, exactly the same way the seemingly not at all hysterical “academic” mob ridiculed itself outside an otherwise exuberant cellebration of the Jewish State , totally unfazed by the brainless morons out in the cold.
If you reckon Zionsts will be intimidated into hysteria by that idiotic display, you need to take a serious course in Reality Check. So far you got a resounding “F” !

  2. That’s because Israel is the cellebrated catalyst for the lowest denominator in in-human endeavours.
Criminals, morons, psychos of all descriptions abandon their sectarian diferences, allawaites, sunnies, together wish shi’a and all other seriously deranged zealots , together with mindless political “minds” march together in the “harmony” of hatred. Exacerbated mohammedan suicidal wreckers of everything civilisation has created hold hands with vacuous atheists. They all march together chanting slogans of venomous vessels. And our tollerant society allows it it proceed. Their vigillance must not be discarded, though, as wise Ausies know too well what stuff of putred matter these people are made of.
And wouldn’t you expect a “Ben” to jump with his/her hysterical incongruities at such a headline !!!

FAlse, misleading, infflamatory, intimidatory – when the protestors have always invited Zionists to openly debate their charges. The last time I heard such a debate was several years ago between Ted lapking and MIchael Shaik. Lapkin choose to smear and slander in response to Michael’s factual statements supported by documents and dates.
The present report is a part of the smear. Challeneg the organisers to openly debate their charges with any Zionist spokesperson and the truth is out.

The usual suspects Green Left Weekly, Socialist Alternative, Students for Palestine , Radical Jewish activist behind the BDS movement James Crafti and the odd anti – Semites along for the ride out side the Windsor Hotel tonight .
These are the friends and supporters of the Palestinians, you know what they same about the friends you keep.
Its not surprising that the Green Weekly/ Socialist Alternative thugs who carry out the intimidation on Palestinian behalf are not marching or demonstrating against Syrian Government barbarism and atrocities against Syrians , after all what goes on there is normal in that Arab neighborhood. , Israel and the Jews is the Socialists cause of choice……
