The newly appointed Scopus School Captains for the coming year are following in family footsteps.

Jacob Komesaroff, Rabbi James Kennard and Ilana Cherny

School Captain Jacob Komesaroff can claim to be the 3rd sibling in his family to hold a captaincy role at Scopus in recent years, with older brother Daniel having been School Captain in 2010/2011 and older sister, Jordana, the Social Action captain in 2009.

School Captain, Ilana Cherny however, holds the dual title, having been Smorgon Family Primary School Captain at Scopus in 2007 as a Year 6 student and now becoming Secondary School Captain for 2012/2013. This is a rare feat and something not seen at Scopus for many years. Ilana also shares her year as captain with her cousin, Jonathan Aldor, who has been appointed Israel Kesher co-captain with Ella Kamer.

All Melbourne Mount Scopus captains, portfolio captains and students office bearers were inducted at a special assembly at the end of last term.

Roni Froumine, the school captain of 5772, 2011/2012 (last year scopus captain) was also the primary school captain and the secondary school captain… rare feet, but also happened last year
