Top Israeli singer Noa to visit Australia

Iconic​ ​Israeli​ ​singer​ ​Noa will​ ​be​ ​making​ ​her​ ​Australian​ ​debut this​ ​November in​ ​both​ ​Melbourne​ ​and​ ​Sydney ​courtesy​ ​of Temple​ ​Beth​ ​Israel​ ​(TBI)​ ​and​ ​the​ ​New​ ​Israel​ ​Fund​ ​(NIF).

Noa,​ ​whose​ ​passionate​ ​and​ ​virtuosic​ ​performances​ ​have​ ​entranced​ ​audiences​ ​around​ ​the​ ​globe​ ​for​ ​nearly thirty​ ​years,​ ​has​ ​enjoyed​ ​a​ ​tremendously​ ​successful​ ​career​ ​across​ ​the​ ​world.​ ​​ ​In​ ​recent​ ​years​ ​she​ ​has​ ​sung for​ ​the​ ​Pope,​ ​and​ ​shared​ ​the​ ​stage​ ​with​ ​such​ ​superstars​ ​as​ ​Stevie​ ​Wonder,​ ​Sting,​ ​and​ ​Andrea​ ​Bocelli amongst​ ​others.

Noa, who is also known ​by​ ​her​ ​given​ ​name​ ​Achinoam​ ​Nini,​ ​​ ​has​ ​also​ ​found​ ​great​ ​success​ ​as​ ​a​ ​songwriter​ ​with​ ​her​ ​longtime​ ​musical​ ​partner​ ​Gil​ ​Dor,​ ​who​ ​will​ ​be accompanying​ ​her​ ​to​ ​Australia.​ ​Together​ ​they​ ​have​ ​composed​ ​many​ ​of​ ​her​ ​biggest​ ​hits​ ​including​ ​the​ ​lyrics to​ ​the​ ​European​ ​standard​ ​La​ ​Vitta​ ​e​ ​Bella​ ​(the​ ​Oscar​ ​award​ ​winning​ ​song​ ​from​ ​Roberto​ ​Benini’s​ ​film​ ​“Life​ ​Is Beautiful”).

Noa​ ​will​ ​perform​ ​in​ ​both​ ​Melbourne​ ​and​ ​Sydney​ ​in​ ​two​ ​different​ ​settings​ ​while​ ​touring​ ​Australia.​ ​She​ ​will perform​ ​in​ ​a​ ​musical​ ​show​ ​with​ ​Gil​ ​Dor​ ​and​ ​bassist​ ​Simon​ ​Starr,​ ​where​ ​she​ ​will​ ​play​ ​through​ ​her​ ​many​ ​hits, some​ ​new​ ​compositions,​ ​and​ ​put​ ​her​ ​unique​ ​interpretations​ ​on​ ​select​ ​covers.​ ​These​ ​concerts​ ​will​ ​be​ ​hosted by​ ​Melbourne​ ​synagogue​ ​Temple​ ​Beth​ ​Israel.

Noa​ ​will​ ​also​ ​be​ ​offering​ ​one-off​ ​evenings​ ​which​ ​combine​ ​a​ ​musical​ ​conversation​ ​with​ ​reflections​ ​on​ ​her work​ ​advancing​ ​peace,​ ​social​ ​justice​ ​and​ ​democracy.​ ​The​ ​audience​ ​will​ ​have​ ​an​ ​opportunity​ ​for​ ​Q+A​ ​with the​ ​artist.​ ​Noa​ ​and​ ​her​ ​musical​ ​partner​ ​Gil​ ​Dor​ ​will​ ​include​ ​a​ ​selection​ ​from​ ​her​ ​repertoire​ ​as​ ​well​ ​as​ ​her compelling​ ​reflections​ ​on​ ​contemporary​ ​Israeli​ ​society,​ ​which​ ​will​ ​be​ ​hosted​ ​by​ ​NIF​ ​Australia.​ ​Noa​ ​is​ ​a board​ ​member​ ​of​ ​NIF​ ​and​ ​has​ ​worked​ ​tirelessly​ ​to​ ​promote​ ​peace​ ​and​ ​dialogue​ ​between​ ​Israelis​ ​and Palestinians.

Rabbi​ ​Gersh​ ​Lazarow​ ​from​ ​Temple​ ​Beth​ ​Israel​ ​said​ ​“We​ ​are​ ​very​ ​pleased​ ​to​ ​have​ ​Noa​ ​perform​ ​in​ ​Australia. She​ ​is​ ​such​ ​a​ ​versatile​ ​musician​ ​and​ ​singer,​ ​performing​ ​eloquently​ ​in​ ​six​ ​languages.​ ​She​ ​has​ ​produced​ ​15 albums​ ​and​ ​it​ ​will​ ​be​ ​a​ ​delight​ ​to​ ​hear​ ​selections​ ​of​ ​these​ ​songs​ ​from​ ​throughout​ ​her​ ​career.”​ ​He​ ​added, “We​ ​recognise​ ​there​ ​are​ ​many​ ​ways​ ​for​ ​people​ ​to​ ​practice​ ​their​ ​Judaism​ ​and​ ​are​ ​proud​ ​to​ ​offer​ ​this opportunity​ ​for​ ​people​ ​to​ ​connect​ ​with​ ​Noa’s​ ​music​ ​and​ ​passion.”
