A witness reported to police that three youths were damaging headstones in what is known locally as the Australian WWI cemetery.

Police apprehended two teens, aged 14 and 17, and an 18-year-old, who were taken to a nearby police station for questioning. Officials released photos of several toppled headstones and noted the suspects were Jewish and that the cemetery served Christians, but have not yet released a motive for the vandalism.

The war memorial was founded for the Australian Light Horse Brigade and is a gravesite for more than 1,200 Commonwealth serviceman, who fought alongside General Edmund Allenby when he captured the land from the Ottoman Empire at the end of World War I.

Being an ex serviceman in the Australian army and ex serviceman of three wars in Israel, what these three swine did absolutely blows my sensibilities.

I can’t believe these morons did’t understand the damage they did to Israel’s reputation here in Australia.
I hope the courts make an example of them.

Note we say “Beersheba” in Australia and New Zealand.

The parents of the three teens should give them a good caning.
