Henry Greener’s The Shtick was about to be consigned to the internet jungle after two previous reprieves. from Melbourne’s Channel 31…when it got a third one.

Three days before pulling CTV nationally on the channel it had occupied for 23 years, hoping to sell the media platform to the highest bidder the government has granted it a stay of execution until the end of the year

Giving only three days’ notice will make it difficult to re-group as many shows would have been phased out, believing it was all over. Only the shows technically prepared to go directly online would have kept going, so this will create a shock to the system and perhaps result in a better future platforms, with opportunities for new formats, types and styles of multicultural, interfaith, diverse entertainment and information media!

Greener told J-Wire: “The Shtick has had a YouTube Channel for 11 years already, and had a much bigger viewership on TV than online, because the public take-up of internet connectivity and quality is not quite ready yet. We ourselves have not refined the secret tricks of making an impact on the social media maze. We are on our scheduled winter break at this time…but we’ll be on air at the end of August.”

I rang the Minister for Communications office and said why is Ch 31 loosing it frequency and what is going to be used for. They said that would get back to with an answer (on 3 times separate occasions)but no reply.

It appears that the ministers office has a communication problem.

After I wrote my last comment yesterday I rang the ministers officer and again today asking the same question. I also rang Sen Fifield’s electorate office today too.

Its like getting blood out of a stone but perhaps the ministers staff dont care as they may be out of a job after the next federal election if the socialists win which is likely.

Hey Adrian, you seem to be the only person showing any concern…you are right about the communication breakdown…which seems to affect ALL branches of this dysfunkshinall adminifrustration…!!!?
