In Israel for the International Conference of Jewish Parliamentarians, Danby was elected to the Executive of the Jewish Parliamentarians. an organisation which includes over a hundred MPs from around the world including 4 four US Congressmen and a delegation from Indonesia led by speaker of its Senate(DPD). The Committee  met this week to discuss ways to support the activities of the current institutional segments of the Community of Democracies (CoD), including the NGO community and governments, ways to strengthen democratic institutions and especially parliaments in the transition and pre-transition countries; ways to  strengthen the role of the national parliaments in CoD countries and their parliamentary functions of representation, passing of legislation, and oversight of the executive.

“I am pleased to be appointed to these august positions. As an avid supporter of democracy and human rights, I am honoured to be appointed on both these executives.”

    @ David Singer:

Perhaps Mr. Danby will consider coming over to the enlightened side of local politics, so he can continue the good fight against those Jew haters from a position of power, since I fear (optimistically) that, after the next election the Green/Labor coalition will be out on their ear….

I hope that Mr Danby – as an avid supporter of democracy – might have the intestinal fortitude to stand up and demand an election take place in Australia before the introduction of any carbon tax – in view of the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister both having assured the electorate before the last election that no carbon tax would be introduced under a Government led by Julia Gillard.

Mr Danby is part of the current Government that breached this rolled gold unequivocal pre-election commitment. This Government makes a mockery of democratic Government whilst it refuses to put the proposed carbon tax to the people for approval before it becomes law.
