Sydney’s The Shalom Institute is now accepting applications for its second year of its ground-breaking innovation program, The Ideation Project.

If you have an innovative idea that you want to bring to life the Ideation Project could be perfect for you.

Urgent-FlyerA spokesperson for the Institute explained to J-Wire: “The Ideation Project refers to the creative process of forming and exploring ideas.

In this 3 month initiative, we will train and guide teams in social and business innovation.  Professional and personal skills will be developed through workshops, masterclasses with industry experts and The Shalom Institute staff.

Our participant teams will be matched with mentors experienced in various areas including finance, law, marketing and business management. These mentors will provide support, facilitate growth and advise teams as they work to bring their idea to life.

The program will include the production of a prototype and will conclude with a pitching event where Ideators will have an opportunity to present their project to a panel of innovation and start-up professionals with the possibility of gaining seed-funding to continue to development and launch following The Ideation Project.

The Ideation Project led its first cohort in 2015 where a group of upcoming community leaders came together as Ideators to workshop and develop a plethora of enterprises including a journal for young Australian Jewish commentaries to be published, educational videos on healthy kosher eating, and a music-video format for educating students on Israeli multiculturalism.

The Shalom Institute wants to create a culture of innovation and leadership in Sydney’s Jewish community where creativity and social entrepreneurship can flourish and where innovators who can bring positive change and fulfil Jewish needs are empowered and enabled to do so.

By building and facilitating The Ideation Project, Shalom is enabling teams of creative people who have the potential to step-up and create something special – and of supporting them along the journey.”

Shailee Mendelevich, Program Manager at Shalom and founder of The Ideation Project added: ““Great ideas need to be empowered and challenged to become great innovations”
