More than 500 guests packed the ballroom of the Sofitel Wentworth hotel…an absolute sell-out.  The event, a fund-raiser for the Sydney institution which provides 24/7 help and offers refuge for those in need, was hosted by Dr Kerryn Phelps.

Following a brilliant performance by award-winning comedian/impersonator Paul Martell, the guests were treated to a rare performance of rock singer Jimmy Barnes working with his son David Campbell. Barnes and Campbell sang “My Yiddishe Mama” to an enthralled audience.

The work of the Jewish House was highlighted in speeched by NSW Treasurer Eric Roozendahl and Jewish House Board member Gary Cohen.

A special tribute was made to twins Anthony and Roger Clifford,  who founded the Jewish House 25 years ago. Anthony, who lives in Los Angeles, was represented by his father Dennis.

Both the auction and capital appeal met with resounding success and the evening finished off with yet another plea to support Jewish House this time from U.S. Chabad entertainer Izzi Lischutz.

The event marked the first Kosher function to be held at the Sofitel Wentworth.
