The history, appeal and diversity of Jewish food culture will be celebrated through Sydney’s inaugural Jewish Food Festival – a first ever for Australia!

The Jewish Food Festival will be big and loud and typically Jewish with a huge range of food stalls, staged demonstrations, novelty cooking competitions, roaming Kletzmer musicians and much more!

The Festival will be organised through the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies and will be a featured event of CRAVE (the Sydney International Food Festival) and it’s media partner, The Sydney Morning Herald.  Extensive media and promotional activities are scheduled throughout the pre-Festival period and crowd expectations are approximately 3,000-4,500.  Entry for Festival attendees will be free.

The festival will be held at a premium, full amenity undercover market on the Sydney CBD fringe.

When:  Sunday 14 October 2012 10.30am – 4.00pm

Where: Eveleigh Markets, Darlington

The Jewish Food Festival organising committee is seeking quality stallholders for the event, based on three broad categories – ‘The 3 Cs’:

Community and Culture:   Community-based organisations, synagogue auxiliaries, charities and groups centred on a specific cultural association

Concept:  As above but wanting to focus on a defined food or single Jewish food concept.

Eg. Exclusively bagels or latkes or Israeli couscous

Commercial:  Established food retailers, caterers, operators or distributors

If you’re a community organisation, commercial food operator, merchandiser or caterer and are interested in participating in this wonderful event, see the Stallholder Q &A for more information or contact the Festival Manager, Alla Pillman on 9360 1600 or by email – pilman@nswjbd.com.

We hope you can be a part of this fantastic event!

I was so excited & put this down on my calendar … then received a flyer from JCA for their ‘Let’s Picnic’ event … to be held on the same day!!! We really dont have such a big community in Sydney – surely the different organisations could co-ordinate their dates a bit better!
