Foundation Community Visitor – Sydney’s Montefiore Foundation

A rewarding opportunity has arisen within our Montefiore Foundation for an enthusiastic Community Visitor to join Montefiore Home on a permanent part-time basis.

A leader in the field of aged care, for nearly 120 years the Sir Moses Montefiore Jewish Home has enhanced the quality of life of it Residents by providing exceptional standards of care and services at its campuses located within the Sydney metropolitan area.

Many older members of our community are often alone. At times they need a friendly chat, a patient ear or someone to rely on. This important role will have you working as a visitor to the Friends of Montefiore Foundation.

Your responsibilities will involve engaging people living in the community who may enjoy or benefit from social activities such as meeting at a local café or going on an outing.

Your role would be to establish warm relationships with the people you are in contact with, keeping them informed and involved with the Home.

The ideal person would have a gift for building rapport with others and be a real ‘people’s person’.

It is important to clarify that this is not a carer’s role; it is intended as a position that allows Montefiore to show appreciation to the community for their interest and support in the Home.

If you are a mature, energetic and engaging person who enjoys social interaction, values friendship and has a passion for assisting older people in the community then we would very much like to hear from you.
