Thirty singles recently braved the elements to meet in a cosy café in Sydney’s Chatswood to make new acquaintances and j-junction and Shore Thing delivered.

Both organisations are thrilled to report that the event was a big hit. It was a mixed group ranging in their 20’s-30’s, all predominantly professionals who confessed they are working more hours than ever before. Whilst they all entered the arrangement with trepidation, their positive attitudes ensured the evening was a great success.
So get on your marks get set and go… not far from the truth. It was a race of the nicest kind. How much can you squeeze into a five minute conversation? The women were seated with the men rotating on the sound of the “gong” every five minutes. With schmoozing and laughing it was easy to see that the men just didn’t want to budge when the gong went! They were caught up in conversation and enjoying the thrill of the night. Nobody was short of what to say to each other and the participants comfortably lasted over two hours in this environment. After each individual meeting, the cards were marked with a “Yes or No” and we are pleased to inform that there were more “Yes” responses than we ever imagined with a staggering 74% wanting contact details on other participants.

After the event we were told by many, “We preferred to meet this way rather than wait at a bar or go on an enduring one hour blind date. This was a relaxed and fun atmosphere as the drinks flowed so did the conversation.” j-junction is intending to host more of these functions in the Eastern suburbs but with a maximum of ten couples to ensure an intimate soiree, aiming at allocating an eight minute time slot.

j-junction has arranged two more speed dating events for this year; Tuesday October 16 and Tuesday November 13. The venue is the Deck Bar at the Golden Sheaf in Double Bay 7.30 to 10pm.  If you are interested please register here. All ages welcomed.
