Five more protesters were arrested in Auckland this morning as Israeli tennis star Shahar Peer fought her way into the semi finals of the ASB Classic tournament.

Among those arrested were pro-Palestinian protest group leader John Minto and a member of his group who was perched high in a tree.

Shahar, who has told media that “she came to New Zealand to play tennis”, will meet Belgian Yanina Wickmayer in their semi-final clash tomorrow.

The protesters have vowed to maintain their ant-Peer chantings but Tennis Auckland have told media that further disruptions to play may result in complaints from other spectators and in turn will involve the police in taking further action.
