Senator Arthur Sinodinos visits Our Big Kitchen

Helping other people is what brings a community together, said Senator Arthur Sinodinos as he addressed volunteers at Bondi’s OBK.

During the visit, Mr Sinodinos talked to staff and volunteers, and then ‘got to work’ by joining a group of 50 volunteers from

Zambrero’s who had come in to assist OBK in getting meals out at this very busy time of the year.

“There are people coming through here – homeless people, broken families, people coming out of jail who need help with the next stage in their lives”, said Mr Sinodinos. At OBK, “they get friendship, they get counselling… and they are reminded that they are a valued member of the community”.

Mr Sinodinos also met with Rabbi Dr Dovid Slavin to discuss ways that OBK can work more closely with the government.

    Good to see the kitchen hands were wearing hair caps for hygiene reasons but rubber gloves should be worn whwn handling food and all facial hair should be covered too.
