Two of Jessica’s loyal fans are Rabbi Levi and Chani Wolff. Following her victory in 2012 in London they invited her to Bondi’s Central Synagogue for a Friday night at which Jessica lit the Shabbat candles on the synagogue.

Rabbi Levi Wolff told J-Wire: “Chani and I woke early this morning to watch the unfolding of this morning’s events. We wish Jessica mazeltov on winning the bronze medal. We hope in the very near future that she will be joining us at the Central Synagogue with her family…and with her new medal.”

Fox was originally earmarked for the silver but due to her touching a pole during her run she was relegated to third place.

Speaking to Chanel 7 French-born Jessica said: “It was a day full of emotion I went through all of them. I was wondering whether I would be fourth or fifth. To finally  get a second Olympic medal is such a great feeling.

The dream was to get the gold medal but I will just have to come back in four years time.”

Jessica Fox’s coach is her French mother Myriam Fox-Jerusalmi won her a bronze in 1996 at Atlanta.
