With two students achieving the maximum ATAR of 99.95, well over half of the cohort in the top 10% of the state and 15 ‘perfect’ study scores across six subjects, we are very proud of all of our graduates and their teachers.

9.7% of students achieved an ATAR score of 99 or over, 19.3% of students at 98 or over, 35% over 95 and 57% attained a score of 90 or above.

Principal, Rabbi James Kennard said, “We are delighted with another year of excellent results for Scopus students. With a record number of students with ATARs of 90 or over, two students with the perfect ATAR of 99.95, and nearly one in ten in the top 1% of the State, we congratulate our students and their teachers.

Amongst our top students are many who have gained so much from Scopus – the Jewish life, Performing Arts, Community and Service and Sports programs – and now they have shown their academic excellence as well”.

The title of ‘Duxes of the College’ goes to Ilana Cherny and Joshua Zail, who each received the highest possible ATAR of 99.95.

Special mentions also go to Adam Slomoi (99.65), Talia Slonim (99.6), Tia Solomon (99.35), Morgan Lincoln (99.3), Daniella Maserow (99.2) and Alexandra Davis (99)

15 ‘perfect’ study scores of 50 were achieved by 13 students in Chemistry, English (5), Health & Human Development (2), History (2), Legal Studies (2) and Religion & Society (3)

Meanwhile Bialik has filed this report:

Bialik College has attained top VCE results for 2013. The Class of 2013 attained a median ATAR score of 92 with 12% students attaining 99 and above placing them in the top 1% of the State; and 55.8% attaining 90 or above. 7 perfect study scores of 50 were achieved across 6 subjects. Congratulations go to the 2013 Bialik College Joint Duces Nathan Hanegbi and Michael Horin for achieving a score of 99.5. The outstanding ATAR scores reflect the commitment and hard work of the students and their teachers. The Bialik Class of 2013 has also performed fantastically with their contribution to the wider community:

  • $12,000 raised for external charities;
  • 95% mentored younger students and 13% of students tutored disadvantaged students and new refugees;
  • 23% of students voluntarily held school leadership positions in the Mazkirut (school leadership team);
  • 90% of Year 11 and 50% of Year 12 competed in competitive interschool sport and the College has won more sports awards than in any other year in the College’s history;
  • 60% of students were involved in performing arts events during their VCE year;
