Due to popular demand, after its stellar preview season at the Sydney Fringe Festival, Devil May Care’s acclaimed production of Songs of Grace and Redemption returns to Sydney in November for a limited season at the TAP Gallery Theatre, Darlinghurst.

Created by John Donnelly (the writer of the runaway hit ‘Bone’) in collaboration with London’s Liminal Theatre comes the Australian premiere of this tender urban fairytale. Five urban singles, slung together in a cocktail of black humour and good intentions.

Sasha Misrachi

Sarah, Steve, Nicola, John and Peter – all with their own unwieldy baggage – stray into inner city Soley’s Bar. They should be in their prime – but each faces a turning point as their weaknesses are exposed to us (and to each other) for better or for worse. The coincidences that drew them here unravel into a funny and tender urban fairytale – with a generous dose of the risqué!

Directed by Danielle O’Keefe, Songs of Grace and Redemption stars Andy Leonard, Jacqui Livingston, Clayton Moss, Louise Pronk, Kathryn Schuback & Nathaniel Scotcher.

Set & costume design Margaret MacDonald, lighting design by Sarah Kenyon and sound design by Simon Moy.

Founded in 2009 by Claire Nesbitt-Hawes and Sasha Misrachi, Devil May Care is a melting pot of Sydney’s most creative and vibrant young theatre talent. Their cheerfully irreverent attitude fosters collaborative theatre-making between practitioners seeking to create dynamic and provocative performances. With a strong desire to entertain and engage diverse audiences through cutting-edge contemporary theatre, Devil May Care’s productions remain with audiences long after the curtain falls.

Says Sasha: “Our audiences must be willing to witness theatre that is out of the ordinary, and to be challenged by our productions’ themes, content and style.”

“We are advocates of a collaborative approach and strongly believe that the Australian theatre community should work together to create a vibrant performance scene,” adds Clare.
