Royal Commission published written submissions
The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse has published the written submissions made to the Yeshivah Melbourne and Yeshiva Bondi public hearing on its website.
This follows a further hearing held in Sydney yesterday when lawyers were given the opportunity to either have new evidence admitted or ask for passages from the submissions to be redacted,
The submissions can be found on the Case Study 22 page on the Royal Commission’s website.
The submissions are very lengthy and effectively mirror what was reported in February.
Counsel made applications to have new evidence taken into account but this was mainly denied on the basis that the correct time to submit it was at the original hearing and not a time when it was not possible for those involved to be examined.
Rabbi Yosse Feldman’s counsel requested that part of his evidence be removed from the report on the basis that his questioning of his personal views at the February hearings had gone too far.
Counsel assisting the Commission Maria Gerace rejected his claims that the Commission had gone too far.
They did not publish the Abuse allegations submitted that were rejected because they did not fit the tight legal definition of “sexual abuse”. The sexual abuse is only the tip of the iceburg. Chabad Australia have left a strewn of victims and destroyed families in their wake.
