The Council of Orthodox Synagogues of Australia – their statement:
The Council of Orthodox Synagogues of Australia join all other Jewish communal organisations and Rabbis in expressing our revulsion and abhorrence at the statements expressed by Rabbi Yossi Feldman before the Royal Commission into sexual abuse. Such statements and opinions that he has expressed have no basis or foundation in Jewish law and are to be condemned unequivocally.
Moreover, it is clear that having made such statements , Rabbi Feldman can no longer be regarded as fit and proper to serve in any communal capacity and in particular any position that involves any pastoral care and involvement within the Jewish and wider community at large.

The COSA should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves.
Please quote what statements of Rabbi Y Feldman caused “revulsion and abhorrence”?

Really?
Which statements and opinions? And which Jewish law?
“Rabbi Feldman can no longer be regarded as fit and proper to serve in any communal capacity and in particular any position that involves any pastoral care and involvement within the Jewish and wider community”
What a despicable statement by these laypersons who (as we well know), many are complete “ameratzim” in Jewish law and/or have difficulty in reading Hebrew prayers- as opposed to rabbi Feldman who is a highly respected Talmid Chacham.
To the best of my knowledge there wasn’t a single member of COSA attending the RC whilst Rabbi Feldman was being interrogated (or any other day for that matter). Thus making this outrageous statement is doubly vile.
They have jumped on the Feldman-witch-hunt bandwagon for the sake of cheap publicity – and never mind destroying the reputation and life or the rabbi and his family.
Remember you all, G-d is the one who knows the truth and he will punish/reward accordingly
Shame on you
You cannot come out and make such clear statements of one’s incompatibility WITHOUT offering the explicit reasons, the ACTUAL facts which lead you to the said drastic conclusions. This is how it is done as due process.
