NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and other NSW politicians send Rosh Hashanah messages.

Labor Opposition Leader Luke Foley added: “On behalf of the Labor Party in NSW, I wish the Jewish community a ‘Shana Tovah’ for a good, sweet and happy Rosh Hashanah. We hope that all the upcoming High Holydays are a cherished time spent with family and friends. Chag Sameach!”

Liberal Gabrielle Upton‘s seat of Vaucluse is home to a large percentage of Sydney Jewry.

She writes:

I warmly wish my local Jewish community and beyond ‘Shana Tovah’ for a healthy, prosperous and peaceful New Year.

As you begin the New Year it is an important opportunity to reflect on the year that was, take stock of our achievements and challenges, and to seek renewal in the year to come.

Rosh Hashanah is a time to be with family, friends and loved ones and an opportunity for prayer, reflection and peace.

As you hear the sound of the shofar and light candles during the High Holy Days may your prayers be heard as you begin Shanh Tovah 5778.

The NSW Jewish community continues to enrich and contribute to our multicultural society and I wish you and your family a peaceful and festive Jewish New Year.

L’Shana Tova
