The State Israel has conferred two Righteous Amongst the Nations awards which will be presented by NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell tomorrow.

The Premier, Opposition Leader John Robertson and 500 leaders of society will gather in a city hotel tomorrow night to celebrate the 64th anniversary of the establishment of the State of Israel.
A moving moment during the event will be the presentation by the State of Israel of Righteous Among The Nations medals to the Australian descendants of two Hungarians who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust.
The Righteous Among The Nations medal is one of the most prestigious awards presented by the State of Israel. Honouring those who had the courage to save people from the Nazis makes a powerful statement that every individual has the capacity to speak out against racism and injustice.
The guests will include MPs, diplomats, ethnic, faith and business leaders…and HE Yuval Rotem, Israel’s ambassador to Australia.
The event is  organised jointly by the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies, Zionist Council of NSW, Executive Council of Australian Jewry and Zionist Federation of Australia.

As Elie Weisel has always proclaimed and from whom I had first heard the expression-you will never forget.
It’s lovely you recognise even the descendants.
