11-yr-old autistic boy Alex Raichman absconded from his carers’ respite home in Sydney’s suburb of Oatley and was found following a intense search dead at the local railway station.

J-Wire understands his parents had left Sydney for a visit to Melbourne and Alex was left in care.

Sydney’s Friendship Circle who offers facilities and programs for children with special needs posted on Facebook:

“Alex was a treasured son, grandson, brother and friend. Today the world lost a beautiful angel. As we try to process this tremendous loss, your beautiful life flashes in front of us. Alex we are going to miss your mischievous smile, the joy in your eyes, your curiosity about the smallest creation and your zest for life. We will miss you so much.

NSW Police stated: “A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner following the death of a child at Oatley overnight.

Officers from St George Police Area Command, the Dog Unit and Polair, had been searching for a 11-year-old boy after he ran from a carer’s facility on Oatley Parade shops about 7.15pm (Sunday 22 April 2018).

Shortly before 9.30pm, it was confirmed the child had been found deceased at Oatley Train Station.

An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death, and police are appealing to anyone with information to contact St George Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”

Rabbi Mendel Kastel of Jewish House told J-Wire his organisation is offering whatever support they can to those in need of it.
