During this special soccer practice, 80 Israeli and Palestinian children from Sderot, Sha’ar Hanegev, and the Palestinian city of Yatta, located south of Mount Hebron, will play together as members of a joint soccer team.

This will be the first practice following a very difficult summer, during which the groups could not engage in such activities.  Despite the political tensions, the Israeli and Palestinian children will come together to play side-by-side.  In addition to the soccer practice taking place tomorrow in Kibbutz Dorot, this year, over 500 Israeli and Palestinian children from throughout Israel and the West Bank will come together for soccer and peace education activities in the framework of the Twinned Peace Soccer Schools program.

Through the Twinned Peace Soccer Schools project children, aged 6-16, participate in a comprehensive ‘peace education through sport’ program that combines athletic training with unique peace education activities, allowing participants to get to know the “other,” learn one another’s languages, break down barriers, and develop friendships based on trust and mutual understanding.

The Director General of the Peres Center for Peace, Efrat Duvdevani, emphasized that “the Peres Center sees great importance in emphasizing and promoting the message of peace and dialogue through sport.  Tomorrow, when the Israeli children of Sderot and Sha’ar Hanegev play together with the Palestinian children of Yatta, it will demonstrate that sport is a common language that has the power to break down barriers and bring people together.”

It is a sad indictment of the Israeli political process that this left wing loon, a man who caused so much damage starting with the Oslo Accords which gave legitimacy to a people who never existed in all of history, still struts the Israeli political landscape.

It is time for a total divorce from these people.
    No soccer, no nothing.
Get them out of our sight.

No point in anyone replying to me that sport is the way to peace.
    Go tell that to Hamas.
