As 2017 fades and 2018 arrives, Israel continues to innovate and expand the boundaries of knowledge which benefit all.

Neither pop boycotts, divestment nor sanctions can stop the Jewish State’s contributions to humanity.

EVEN THE UN CANNOT DENY ISRAELS’ CONTRIBUTIONS

At a recent conference devoted to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the UN representative stated that “Israel is pushing forward and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in a very practical manner. The UN is very happy that Israel is advanced in not only its own actions towards the SDGs implementation, but in also providing a platform for others in the areas of gender, gender equality, education, and especially in innovation.”

The UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development outlines seventeen goals for the international community to implement by 2030 “to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all.”

Areas in which Israel is leading the world and sharing its expertise include water and sanitation, quality education, health and well being as well as innovation and infrastructure.

From Israel to Africa with love

This short video dramatically illustrates how Israeli expertise and compassion combine to transform the lives of people in Africa. From out of Zion these days goes forth life saving technology.

TRAINING FOR NATURAL DISASTERS

The Philippines has recently been in the news as devastating floods and mudslides have caused havoc and loss of life and homes.

Coincidentally a Magen David Adom (MDA) delegation had previously visited the country to train instructors for emergency medicine teams on how to deal with mass casualty events.

MDA, Israel’s national ambulance, blood-services and disaster-relief organization, has been collaborating for more than two years with the Philippine Red Cross in order to strengthen lifesaving capabilities and emergency responses.

A senior MDA paramedic and instructor explained: “Over the past few years, the Philippines Red Cross has been able to improve, with the help of MDA’s professional trainings, their emergency response system that aims to provide response to disasters.

Little did any of them realise that this expertise would need to be employed in a real life disaster so soon.

ANNUAL DISTRIBUTION OF XMAS TREES

In an annual gesture unique in the Islamic Middle East the Jerusalem Municipality arranged for the free distribution of Xmas trees to its Christian citizens. On the roads in Jerusalem leading to Bethlehem the Municipality also hung illuminated decorations.

In the midst of international disapproval spurred on by the UN General Assembly, Israel’s Capital showed exactly how freedom of religion is a reality.

May the new civil year of 2018 usher in an era of peace and tolerance based on respect and genuine good will. Israel will undoubtedly pioneer more amazing innovations in the year ahead.
