From the depths of Jerusalem to the moon and with exiles returning home, amazing news from Israel continues.

LEARNING FROM THE PAST TO SOLVE MODERN PROBLEMS

As highlighted in a recent J-Wire report, Auckland and Sydney, among many other cities worldwide, are facing a serious lack of space in the provision of new cemeteries. Land is at a premium and the problem of providing for future burials has become a major problem.

In Biblical and Talmudic times Jews were buried in caves and catacombs. The Jewish Patriarchs and Matriarchs (except Rachel) are buried in the Cave of Machpela in Hebron which Abraham legally purchased at the dawn of Jewish history. Beit She’arim in the north of Israel contains well-preserved catacombs which were used during the early centuries of the Common Era when the Oral Code was written down.

Jerusalem is chronically short of land for the living and therefore the availability of a suitable cemetery presents a major obstacle. Current cemeteries are filling up fast and like their counterparts in other countries alternative solutions need to be implemented fast.

In true Israeli style a brilliant solution has been devised which could also be copied by other cities worldwide. Using ancient forms of burial as a guide the world’s largest underground cemetery is being built which will solve the lack of space and at the same time provide a modern yet dignified resting place for the deceased. No longer will mourners have to stand in pouring rain or searing heat as they will be protected from the elements. For a detailed explanation of this innovative project which complies in every respect with Halacha (Jewish Law) have a look at this link:

 AIMING FOR THE MOON

It sounds like science fiction but it’s not. Israel is preparing to join a very select company of nations who have landed a spacecraft on the moon. Unbelievable as it may seem the Jewish State is embarking on this feat. This gives a new meaning to the prophetical promise of amazing things going forth from Zion.

Watch this and marvel:

OUR EXILES ARE RETURNING

The long lost descendants of the exiled Tribe of Menashe who have been living in northern India are gradually returning to the land of their ancestors. Cut off since the destruction of the Kingdom of Israel these exiles are coming back to rejoin their brethren in the Jewish State. Scenes of joy mixed with tears greet every group as they arrive at Ben Gurion airport and reunite with relatives they have not seen in many cases for years.

To get a sense of the heartfelt emotions generated watch this short video and revel in the fulfillment of Biblical prophesy occurring in our time. This is not only good news it is great news which you will not see reported in your local media.
